When you are scribing a worktop back to an uneven wall the counter would likely need to have an overhang of around 20mm from the face of the cabinet doors.
Scribing skirting board uneven floor.
Dry fit the skirting board.
Sand the bevel away to create a level cut at the marked line with sandpaper.
This means fitting one board by butting it straight into the corner then cutting the next one in to match the exact profile so it fits perfectly up against the first.
For the first step you ll want to cut the skirting board to size and dry fit it to the wall.
Be careful to hold the compass perpendicular to the surface being scribed.
Hello jk always follow the level of the existing floor and sit it flat against the floor you will have to accommodate for this un level floor when you cut your internal scribes and external mitres don t try to get the skirting level because over a long length it will sit flat one end a be off the floor the other and your eyes will draw to the gap underneath straight away the only time you will have to scribe the bottom of the skirting to get it flat against the floor is when there might.
One more question the workers are fitting the skirting boards upside down as in the curved bit at the top of the skirting board is being fitted on the floor.
If the doors weren t installed on the cabinets yet you would need to allow the thickness of the doors plus the 20mm overhang as well as allowing for the deviations or protrusions in the wall.
They say this is because my floor is uneven and the floor curves upwards and merges into the wall rather than there being a straight clean line.
Scribing helps you fit a cabinet side paneling or molding to irregular surfaces like brick.
Trim the board along the penciled line to create a perfect fit with the changing floor height.
You can continue to fix the skirting to the wall.
Set the circular saw blade depth to the depth of the board and on a 5 degree bevel with the face of the cut toward the wall.
If you find that there are no gaps between the floor and the bottom of the skirting you re good to go.
This means putting it in place without actually fixing it to the wall.
Place the board onto a cutting surface.
I thought the curved bit stays at the top.
First support the paneling or molding so its edge is plumb.
Whilst this sounds difficult for very intricate mouldings it is actually really straight forward.
If you see gaps you ll need to scribe the boards.
In this video we will be explaining how to scribe your skirting boards should they not be flat on the floor.
