I have a situation where i need to cut both a floor and a wall with the same void object.
Revit cut with voids when loaded floor.
Simply select the cut geometry tool then select the floor element first and then select the family second.
Once both cut geometry tool and floor is selected it s time to select the newly developed family.
Ceilings floors generic models roofs structural columns structural foundations structural framing and walls.
The cutting of the element by the void is not automatic.
Is there any type of family that could do this.
With a little imagination i am sure thatyou will come up with many situations in which this parameter is very useful.
When selected voids created in the family will cut through solids.
The floors and walls are already modeled but i m quite new to the massing side of things in revit.
Now go to the properties panel and checkout and select the parameter cut with a void when loaded revit users before selecting the newly created family should first select cut geometry tool and then select a floor.
Use the cut command to cut the desired object with the family.
Edit the family and check the cut with voids when loaded checkbox then re load the family and cut.
Hey guys just a quick question about creating mass and using it to cut voids through roof floors and walls.
Cut with voids when loaded.
You need to use the cut geometry tool.
We tried an in place model but it can t be copied.
Massing shape to cut voids in floors.
Here a sketch example to explain it better.
The following categories can be cut by voids.
The situation repeats in the project so ideally i d like a solution that s easy to copy around.
Family second simply select the cut geometry tool then select the floor element first and then select the checked the parameter cut with void when loaded.
When you create an uncut void element in a family and enable the cuts with voids when loaded setting you can have one family cut through another family when loaded in the project environment.
